Lady Grady Social Club Inc.

It started as a vision…

Lady Grady Social Club Inc. was formed July 2003 at Surfers Paradise Golf Club by a group of lady golfers whose vision it was to raise funds in support of children with Down Syndrome and their families.

Founding President Vi Grady, mother of well known golf professional Wayne Grady, was the driving force behind this initiative. Vi’s inspiration was her granddaughter Samantha who has Down Syndrome.

Another aim was to build camaraderie between South East Queensland Golf Clubs and over the years many friendships have been made between golfers from Byron Bay to Bribie Island.

That vision for Lady Grady has never waivered and our current membership sits at 394.

Four events are played each year, three at local resort courses and once a year there is a weekend away. It is only through the extraordinary generosity of our members who support these events and our fund raising efforts that we are able to present a donation cheque each year to the Down Syndrome Association of Queensland.

To date our fund raising exceeds $143,000.
