The annual Lady Grady “Away” Event at Byron Bay once again proved that a little rain and some soggy fairways are no match for the spirit and generosity of our incredible members.

While course conditions underfoot were certainly a little soft in places following recent weather, it did nothing to dampen the enthusiasm, camaraderie and determination of the 53 members who participated across the weekend. In true Lady Grady fashion, the event was filled with laughter, friendly competition and outstanding community spirit from start to finish.

A sincere thank you must go to Greg Stewart and his Pro shop team for their organisation, support and warm hospitality throughout the event. We also extend our appreciation to the catering and bar staff whose efforts behind the scenes ensured everyone was well looked after all weekend.

The generosity shown by members, sponsors and donors was once again nothing short of extraordinary. Despite a relatively small field of just 53 participants, the event achieved another remarkable milestone, raising over $5,000 for the second consecutive year. This is an outstanding achievement and a reflection of the passion and commitment of everyone involved.

We would like to sincerely thank all sponsors, prize, auction and raffle donors and members who contributed so generously to the success of the event. Your ongoing support continues to make a real difference.

While prizes are awarded and memories created on the golf course, the true winner once again is Down Syndrome Queensland. The funds raised will help support the important work they do for individuals and families throughout Queensland, making the impact of this event far greater than the scores recorded over the weekend.
